KMA Architects
New Construction
Contract Value: $17.3 million
This 108-room replacement dormitory project is the first facility at the base designed and built under the US Air Force Vision 2020 Initiative. The Initiative was implemented to improve the quality of life for military personnel. The design encourages camaraderie and social interaction; while also maintaining individual space and privacy. Design elements enhance architecture and eliminate the institutional feeling, providing a sense of home. The "U" shape arrangement allows private access to individual living units from exterior balconies to convey a feeling of an individual apartment.
